Deep, focused healing in a supportive and spacious environment

If you’re feeling stuck in therapy, overwhelmed by the pace of life, or frustrated that your progress keeps stalling, an EMDR Intensive might be the breakthrough you’ve been looking for.

An Intensive creates a protected space to process distressing experiences, clear emotional blocks, and move toward lasting change, without the stop–start of weekly therapy or the sense that you’re “just managing” rather than genuinely healing.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?

Weekly therapy can be powerful, but when sessions are spaced out, your brain often loses momentum. Symptoms flare, life gets in the way, and the emotional load rebuilds between appointments.

EMDR Intensives offer a different pathway. Instead of spreading trauma work across months, you complete it in a concentrated block—maintaining therapeutic momentum, reducing distress between sessions, and allowing your brain to stay fully engaged in processing.

Here’s how Intensives compare to weekly EMDR:

Faster Results

Weekly work brings gradual change.
Intensives often create significant improvement in just a few days, especially for trauma, anxiety, and longstanding emotional patterns.

Stronger Continuity & Fewer Interruptions

Weekly therapy is vulnerable to real life, illness, work, childcare, avoidance, or emotional fatigue.
In an Intensive, you stay immersed in the process from start to finish, meaning far less disruption and a clearer path forward.

Less Emotional Whiplash Between Sessions

Stop–start work can leave you feeling like you’re reopening the same wounds.
An Intensive keeps the processing window open, reducing symptom spikes and helping your nervous system stay regulated, supported, and moving forward.

Highly Suitable for Complex Trauma & Neurodiversity

People with complex trauma, ADHD, or chronic anxiety often find weekly therapy too fragmented. Intensives offer structure, stability, and uninterrupted therapeutic contact, leading to faster stabilisation and deeper integration.

A Stronger Therapeutic Relationship

Working together over consecutive hours or days deepens trust and emotional safety.
The consistency allows for more attunement, grounding, and support, which is essential for trauma processing.

What is an EMDR Intensive?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain safely process unresolved experiences from the past that are still affecting you today.

In standard therapy, EMDR is delivered in shorter sessions—50 or 90 minutes—which can feel frustrating when you’re ready to go deeper.

An EMDR Intensive gives you the time, continuity, and focused support to fully engage in processing, without needing to “put everything back in the box” after 50 minutes.

Is This Format Right for You?

An EMDR Intensive may be helpful if:

  • You’ve plateaued in weekly therapy

  • You want to work through something specific without committing long-term

  • Life is busy and you need a focused, impactful format

  • You’ve had trauma-informed therapy before and feel ready to go deeper

  • You’re emotionally exhausted and want a safe space to unravel and rebuild

  • You want faster results and fewer symptoms between sessions

  • You’re neurodivergent and find weekly transitions hard

  • You’re tired of feeling stuck and want momentum again

How It Works

Your EMDR Intensive journey includes:

  • Initial assessment session (Tues, Weds, Thurs, or Sat)

  • Your EMDR Intensive Workbook, supporting reflection, preparation, and integration

  • Your in-person Intensive in Norwich (NR3), with tea, tissues, blankets, grounding tools, and a calm space provided (online available if preferred)

  • Post-session integration resources to support continued processing

  • Optional follow-up call to check in after your intensive

This is not “therapy bootcamp.”
We shape the work around your capacity, with grounding breaks, co-regulation, and careful pacing.

It’s deep work, done safely.

Availability & Timing

Assessment Sessions: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
EMDR Intensives: Mondays and Fridays

Session Times:

  • Morning: 9am–12pm

  • Afternoon: 1pm–4pm

  • Evening can be accommodated if necessary e.g. 4-7pm

Please note: I do not offer single 50-minute or 90-minute sessions on Mondays or Fridays, only 3-hour or 6-hour intensives.

Most people find three hours is the natural limit before fatigue sets in. Full-day intensives are only recommended when we both feel confident they are the right fit for your nervous system and goals.
