Frequently asked questions
I specialise in the intersection of Eating Disorders, Complex Trauma, and Neurodiversity (including ADHD and Autism). Many of my clients describe feeling “too much, too sensitive, or stuck in patterns they can’t think their way out of.”
Common issues I help with include:
Binge eating, emotional eating, or long-term struggles with food and body image
ARFID, OCD, Autism/ADHD links
Restrictive or obsessive patterns with food and movement
Recovery blocks and burnout after years in therapy
Chronic shame, self-criticism, or identity confusion
Dissociation, people-pleasing, and relational trauma
ADHD-related overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, and sensory stress
Perfectionism, overthinking, and internal pressure
My clients are often deep thinkers, creatives, carers, or professionals who have spent years supporting others — and are now ready to reconnect with themselves.
My work integrates CBT, EMDR, and Compassion-Focused approaches with somatic grounding and psychoeducation, adapted for neurodivergent minds.
I don’t do “quick fixes” or “thought policing.” Instead, therapy with me is about helping your body and mind feel safe enough to change — rather than forcing change through willpower or logic alone.
Sessions often weave together trauma processing, cognitive understanding, and nervous system regulation — always at a pace that feels grounded and collaborative.
My 15 years in mental health services as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, my core profession informs my work holistically, along with my fitness industry background as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Teacher, Yoga Teacher and my Biology teaching background given a very broad overview across multiple lenses.
All sessions take place at my office in Sackville Place, 44-48 Magdalen Street, Norwich. NR3 1JU
The venue is on the first floor, unfortunately there is not currently full disabled access at this time for my office but by request, a ground floor disabled access room can be arranged with advance planning
Nearest car park is Colegate car park, buses stop regularly 2 mins from the venue including Park and Ride. Beyond Colegate, Dukes Wharf and St Andrews car park offer spaces but with approx 5-10 min walk to the venue.
There’s no set timeline — healing depends on your goals, pace, and history. Some clients come for a focused 8–12 sessions, others continue for several months or longer as deeper layers emerge.
We review progress regularly and adapt your plan collaboratively. My approach is always to work towards independence, not dependence.
This depends on your individual needs. It can be hard to predict a specific number as therapy is a process, not a defined destination. Once we have completed a thorough assessment together (usually 1-2 50 min sessions), I will be able to recommend the package that is best for you, and we will review and tailor my approach throughout our time together.
Generally speaking eating disorders therapy can be anywhere from 12, to 20-40 sessions. This will be discussed with you individually. Some people prefer short term, long term or ongoing open ended support.
OCD type issues can be around 15-25 sessions.
The first step in the process is to book a first session using my client portal or use my contact form and we can discuss the next steps.
If you have a specific budget in mind, it's important we talk about that on the first session to meet expectations about what is affordable and session number. We can also think about if you need to spread the number of sessions out to support that i.e. fortnightly rather than weekly, with more homework tasks in between sessions
I offer 2 concessionary slots which are currently full - these are on a sliding scale between £85-£120. If this changes and there is availability, it will be updated on my website/client portal
I limit my client load to maintain high-quality, emotionally sustainable work. However, I do periodically run group therapy programmes that are more cost-effective.
You can book directly through my client portal, where you’ll see live availability for therapy assessments, Clarity Calls, or EMDR intensives.
I currently don’t offer free introductory calls due to demand, but all first sessions include time to explore whether we’re a good fit.
The first step is to book a first session, you have a choice of a full initial assessment of 50 mins or a therapy suitability call of 30 mins: Home - Client Bookings Zanda
As of 2026:
Individual therapy: £125 per 50-minute session
EMDR intensives: £550 half-day / £1100 full-day
I also offer one-off Clarity Calls (£150) for those wanting an initial deep dive without ongoing therapy.
Sessions are payable through my secure online client portal, with options for block bookings or individual payments.
I work Tuesdays 10am-6pm (so 4pm and 5pm slots) and Saturdays 9am-3pm
I do not see 1:1 50 minute clients on Monday, Friday or Sunday. Mondays and Fridays are reserved for EMDR intensives or rest
I don't offer evening appointments as I am at my best quality to you in the daytime, but offer Saturday daytime as my off peak time
My sessions reflect over 15 years of frontline experience in mental health — across NHS services in Birmingham and London, supporting people with some of the most complex and severe difficulties.
I specialise in the intersection of Eating Disorders, Neurodiversity, and Complex Trauma — a rare and highly specialised area of work. There are very few clinicians nationwide trained across all three, and even fewer with lived experience to back it up.
I’m not a general counsellor. I’m a BABCP-accredited CBT and EMDR Therapist and Mental Health Nurse, trained in evidence-based approaches including specialist CBT for Eating Disorders and adapted CBT for neurodivergent clients. This means I’m qualified to work safely with moderate to severe presentations — where emotional, psychological, and physical risk all need to be considered.
I also bring lived experience: almost 30 years of my own recovery journey from binge eating and addiction. Alongside my clinical training, I’ve worked as a Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, and Nutrition Coach, giving me a truly integrative understanding of body–mind connection.
My fees reflect the breadth and depth of that background — and the time, supervision, and care that goes into offering high-quality, sustainable therapy. I keep my caseload intentionally small so every client receives the presence and energy they deserve.
Yes — I’m BABCP-accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a member of the EMDR Association UK currently working towards accreditation.
I’m also a Registered Mental Health Nurse, fully insured by Balens and clinically supervised. My background includes NHS specialist eating disorder services, university wellbeing, and trauma-focused therapy in private practice.
You’ll get the most out of therapy with me if you’re:
Open to exploring your inner world, not just “fixing symptoms”
Ready to tolerate a little discomfort for long-term growth
Curious about how your body and mind interact
Seeking authenticity and emotional safety, not just coping skills
You don’t need to have it all figured out — just a willingness to be gently curious.
The best way is to book a Clarity Call or Getting to Know You Call. You’ll get a sense of my style, pacing, and whether we click.
Choosing a therapist is personal, and it’s completely okay if you’re still figuring that out.
Here’s what usually helps people decide whether I’m the right fit:
✨ You want a therapist who goes deeper than surface-level techniques. I work by understanding the patterns underneath your difficulties, not just managing symptoms. If you’re curious, reflective, or a “deep thinker”, we’ll likely work well together.
✨ You’re looking for someone who specialises in complex trauma, eating disorders, ADHD, and autism. I bring 18+ years of clinical experience as a Mental Health Nurse, CBT & EMDR therapist, and I work in a way that is neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed.
✨ You want therapy to feel safe, steady, and structured. Consistency matters, especially if you’re neurodivergent or have a sensitive nervous system. We’ll take things at a pace that feels grounded rather than overwhelming.
✨ You want an approach that is evidence-based and human. I combine CBT, EMDR, stabilisation work, and nervous system regulation with warmth, humour, and honesty. There’s no performative “therapist voice” here—just connection and skilled practice.
✨ You care about working with someone who gets nuance. If you often feel misunderstood, “too much”, “too sensitive”, or like your inner world is complex—this is exactly the type of client I specialise in supporting.
And it’s okay if we’re not the right fit.
Everyone deserves the therapist that feels right for them. If I ever feel your needs would be better served elsewhere, I will always guide or signpost you.
